What this service is

Lead & Lane is an independent directory of beaches, pubs, cafés and dog fields in South West England. It helps you check the dog rule that applies on a beach and find places that list dogs as allowed, and lets you keep a personal list of saved places. It is informational. It is not affiliated with any council, venue or landowner listed.

Rules can change: check before you go

Beach dog rules are seasonal, differ between councils and can differ between parts of a beach. Always check the signs on arrival and, for a pub, café or dog field, check with the venue before you go.

No guarantee of accuracy or completeness

Records are compiled from open data and public records (see the Privacy policy). They can be out of date, incomplete or wrong, and some fields are not listed. The list is not a complete record of places. The service is provided “as is” and “as available”.

Third-party data

Place data and maps are provided by third parties under open licences. Names and trademarks belong to their owners. The Privacy policy explains the data we use and how it is licensed.

Acceptable use

• Do not break the law, attack or overload the site, or probe it for weaknesses.
• Do not scrape the site at a rate that harms it.
• Do not submit false reports, other people’s personal information or abusive content.
• Do not try to access another person’s account or data.

Accounts

You may create an account with a confirmed email address or Google sign-in. Keep your password secret and tell us if you think someone else used your account. Account data is handled as described in the Privacy policy.

Ending your use

You can stop at any time and delete your account in Me → “Delete my account”. We may suspend an account or restrict access if these terms are broken or to protect the site or other people, and we may change or stop any part of the service.

Limits on our liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, the operator is not liable for losses that come from relying on the information here, including a closed venue, a changed beach rule or travel costs, or from the site being unavailable. Nothing in these terms limits any responsibility that cannot legally be limited.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they were last updated. If you keep using the site after a change, you accept the updated terms.
